At Southwell Retreat, we are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive and enjoyable experience for every guest. As a small, boutique, family-run glamping site, we offer a personal approach, taking the time to understand each guest’s individual requirements before they arrive.

We believe accessibility starts with clear communication. We provide honest information about our accommodation and facilities, enabling guests to make informed decisions before booking. We encourage anyone with accessibility requirements, medical conditions or additional support needs to contact us directly. Wherever reasonably possible, we will adapt our service, discuss the most suitable accommodation and provide any additional information required.

Our aim is for every guest to feel valued, respected and supported throughout their stay. We continually review guest feedback and use both positive and constructive comments to improve our facilities and overall guest experience.

Site Accessibility Information

Parking

  • Free parking is available adjacent to the hedge as guests enter the main driveway.
  • Parking is within easy walking distance of all pods.

Pathways

  • All pathways are level and constructed from a compacted mixed sand and MOT stone surface.
  • Pathways are even and maintained to provide stable access.
  • Low-level lighting is installed along pathways leading to each pod.

Each pod offers:

  • Level internal flooring throughout.
  • Open-plan bedroom and lounge area.
  • Separate bathroom.
  • Hot and cold running water.
  • WC, wash hand basin and shower cubicle.

Daisy, Lily & Bluebell Pods

  • Entrance step: 16cm high x 146cm wide
  • Hot tub step: 22cm high x 95cm wide
  • Toilet height: 40cm
  • Shower tray lip: 16cm
  • Bathroom sink height: 73cm
  • Bathroom door width: 60cm

Rosy Pod

  • Three entrance steps: 20cm high x 88cm wide

Lighting

Each pod includes:

  • Bedside lighting.
  • Ceiling lighting with dimmer controls.

Dogs

One small dog (under 10kg) is welcome in Daisy Pod and Lily Pod, subject to the Site Owner’s discretion.

Whilst our accommodation is not fully wheelchair accessible, we are committed to discussing individual requirements with every guest and will always do everything reasonably possible to ensure they have an enjoyable and comfortable stay.
